Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar quits Senate seat
Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar has decided to resign from the Senate.
In a series of tweets on Tuesday, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said a senior leader of PPP met him and conveyed him the party leadership’s displeasure over his recent political stance and sought his resignation.
Khokhar said that he agreed to resign happily as per the party’s directives. The Senator said that he will submit his resignation to the Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani on Wednesday.
The PPP leader said that as a political worker, he had the right to express his opinions on matters of public interest.
Expressing gratitude to the PPP leadership, Khokhar said that “it has been a wonderful journey with them and wish them the best.”
