Roberto Neccia participates in ECOTHON 2023

Islamabad: Italy’s Deputy Head of Mission of Italian Embassy Roberto Neccia here on Saturday participated in the ECOTHON 2023, a 10-kilometer marathon tom promote awareness about environment.

The marathon was held under the aegis of Prime Minister’s Youth Program and the UAE embassy.

The theme of the race titled ECOTHON 2023 was ‘Clean and Healthy Environment’.

A large number of people from all walks of life including ambassadors and high commissioners participated in the race.

The purpose of the marathon was to create awareness among the masses about the negative impacts of climate and change. More than 1000 participants took part in the race.

Speaking to Newswire, Roberto Neccia said environment was a very important global issue.

“I am pleased to participate in the event. Such initiatives help in promoting awareness among the people,” he said.

Roberto Neccia said Italy supports a clean and green environment across the world and had been cooperating with Pakistan on the subject.

At the event, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima said there was a dire need to create awareness among the masses about the climate change and its negative impacts on human lives.
