Italy-UK relations stronger under King Charles III: Meloni
Rome: The “historical and fruitful cooperation” between Italy and the United Kingdom will be even stronger under the reign of King Charles III, Premier Giorgia Meloni said in a Facebook post on the day of the Coronation in London on Saturday.
King Charles III “repeated yesterday (Friday) that he loves Italy ,” said Meloni, adding that relations had already been reinforced with her recent visit to London to meet her British counterpart Rishi Sunak.”
“The old Cosmati mosaic in Westminster Abbey, on which King Charles III’s coronation throne was placed today, was masterfully crafted by Italian artisans some eight centuries ago,” wrote the Premier.
"Today it is still there to amaze the world, and to tell the story of the historic and fruitful cooperation between Italy and the United Kingdom, which we are sure with King Charles III (...) will be further strengthened," she continued.
“My best wishes to King Charles III, Queen Camilla and the entire British people,” concluded Meloni.
