CPEC projects will be completed at a faster pace to benefit Balochistan people: Shehbaz Sharif
Quetta: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects will be completed at a faster pace to benefit the Balochistan people.
In a meeting with Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Kakar here at the Governor’s House, the PM mentioned that Baklochistan was a special focus of the CPEC projects.
The Governor was appreciative of the special interest shown by the Prime Minister in development of Balochistan province.
Malik Abdul Wali Kakar gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister about the ongoing development schemes and law and order situation in the province.
The PM assured that all the development projects especially the CPEC projects, will be completed to facilitate the people.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally inaugurated the 34th National Games in Quetta.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, he vowed to utilize all possible resources to promote sports activities in the country.
The Prime Minister pledged the federal government will spare no effort in helping the provincial government of Balochistan to revive the sports and recreational activities for the youth.
“Our youth have a lot of capabilities which must be utilized optimally to mainstream their role in development of the country. The capacity building of youth and provision of better opportunities to them were top most priorities of the government,” he added.
The Prime Minister maintained that holding National Games in Balochistan was reflective of national unity and passionate love of Baloch people for Pakistan.
He said peace has returned to Balochistan after years of indomitable struggle and sacrifices of people and security forces.
PM Sharif lauded the law enforcement agencies, the sports associations from across the country and the administrative officials for organizing these games.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines, the Prime Minister said that the development and prosperity of Balochistan is the first priority of the government. “This is my second visit to Balochistan within a week,” he mentioned.
PM Sharif underlined that during the floods, the people of Balochistan were helped and their rehabilitation was ensured on a priority basis. China will not sit back until equal development opportunities and employment are provided to the skilled workforce.
The PM highlighted that he was working day and night to remove the deprivations of the people of Balochistan.
“During the flood, the Balochistan members of PML-N actively participated in the relief activities. The entire central leadership, including me, pays tribute to all of you for relieving the sufferings of the flood victims,” he added.
