Nationals of EU & Schengen Countries Now Eligible for Russia e-Visa
Brussels: Nationals of the European Union and Schengen Area country will be able to travel to Russia under facilitated rules as they are now eligible for e-visa.
Announcing the news, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that all citizens of the EU/Schengen countries can now reach the Russian Federation for certain purposes as long as they have an e-visa, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
The same stressed that the list of countries whose nationals can apply for the Russia e-visa consists of other countries too. The full list is as follows:
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the e-visa permits nationals of the EU/Schengen and those of the other countries listed above to enter its territory for tourism and business purposes.
Moreover, the e-visa also permits entry for the purpose of participating in scientific and cultural activities as well as for the purpose of participating in sports events.
“Foreign citizens arriving in the Russian Federation on the basis of a unified e-visa have the right to freedom of movement within the entire territory of the Russian Federation, except for visits to territories, organizations, and facilities to which a special permit is required in accordance with federal laws,” the statement of the Ministry reads.
As the Ministry has explained, the e-visa is a single entry visa. Furthermore, the e-visa is valid for a period of 60 from the issuance date.
As for the permitted period of stay, the Ministry noted that those eligible for the e-visa are permitted to stay in the territory of the Russian Federation for 16 days.
“The period of validity of an electronic visa and/or the permitted period of stay may be extended only in cases where it is impossible to leave the territory of the Russian Federation due to the need for emergency treatment or unsurmountable circumstances (force majeure) or natural disasters,” the Ministry added.
When applying for the Russia e-visa, all applicants must submit their application form from their account. Applicants can submit their application 40 before their intended entry to the country at the earliest and not later than four days.
The e-visa will be processed within a period of four days from the date of submission, and all applicants have been warned to provide accurate information.
Apart from submitting the required information, applicants for e-visa must also pay the visa fee and purchase travel health insurance valid for the entire duration of their stay in Russia.
