Pakistani, Chinese institutions sign MoU to establish Sino-Pak Industrial Talent Training Center
Lahore: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chinese Vocational and Technical College of Anshun to encourage educational exchanges and collaboration to establish the Sino-Pak Industrial Talent Training Center.
During a virtual ceremony held at the City Campus, the MoU was signed by UVAS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nasim Ahmad, Mr Li Xinchang (Principal of Vocational and Technical College of Anshun), Yasser Shakoor (Tang International Education and Technology Regional Director), and Mr Li Jinsong (President of TANG International Education Group). Professor Dr Hafsa Zaneb (Chairperson Department of Anatomy and Histology), Dr Muhammad Asif Awan (Director Veterinary Academy), and a few UVAS faculty members were present.
Professor Dr Nasim Ahmed said at the event that UVAS maintains a strong bond with Chinese institutions and companies to enhance veterinary education and to uphold the historic friendship between Pakistan and China.
He noted that UVAS achieved the 2nd position in Punjab and 4th in Pakistan in Times Higher Education Impact ranking. Additionally, UVAS secured a ranking of 351-400 in the latest Times Higher Education Asia University rankings.
Professor Dr Nasim Ahmed believed that this MoU would have a significant impact, not only by providing professional training to students, but also by enhancing the skills of para-veterinary workers.
The agreement entails the promotion of academic and cultural exchanges, as well as cooperation in teacher training, short-term student exchanges, and technical skill training.
Together, both institutions will establish the Sino-Pak Industrial Talent Training Center at UVAS. This center will offer training in Chinese language, vocational skills, and understanding Chinese culture, with the aim of cultivating international professionals with a craftsman spirit.
