Italy international Donnarumma has no doubt about Mbappé’s PSG future
Rome: Mbappé’s contract at the Parc des Princes expires this coming June and the 2018 France World Cup winner seems unwilling to sign a new deal with his club.
New PSG coach Luis Enrique initially dropped him for pre-season matches but has recently reintegrated the 24-year-old into the squad, seeing his superstar score three goals in the opening two Ligue 1 games.
Italy international Donnarumma praised Mbappé during an interview with French reporters on Saturday night, saying the striker will remain at the club beyond the end of the summer transfer window.
“It’s a pleasure to play with him and he will surely stay,” Donnarumma said after a 3-1 win over Lens, as quoted by RMC Sport.
Donnarumma, 24, has kept one clean sheet in the opening three Ligue 1 games this season, conceding two goals.
Mbappé will be available as a free agent at the end of the season if he doesn’t renew his contract with PSG and according to multiple sources, Real Madrid are the leading candidate to secure his signature in the summer of 2024.
