Chinese Consulate approves plan to fund 1201 orphan students in Gwadar with RMB 350,000 budget
Quetta: The Chinese Consulate in Karachi has approved a plan aimed at offering financial assistance to 1201 orphan students in Gwadar with a budget of RMB 350,000.
The Balochistan Education Department has compiled a roster containing 1,201 orphaned children from Gwadar, an official statement issued by the Balochistan provincial government said, citing the approval of the project by the Chinese Consulate.
A large portion of the RMB 350,000 will be allocated for procuring school bags and educational supplies, while the remaining sum will be distributed among the orphaned students in the form of cash.
China Overseas Ports Holding Company (COPHC), the District Administration, and the Education Department of Gwadar have collaborated on determining the disbursement process for the funds within this initiative.
Gwadar District Administration (GDA) highlighted that China’s diplomatic missions in Pakistan had accelerated their efforts to foster socio-economic growth and human resource development in Gwadar. This progress involves cooperation with Chinese institutions operating in the region.
Simultaneously, the upgradation of schools in Gwadar is currently underway.
Recently the Chinese Consulate in Karachi distributed 10,000 free ration bags to deserving individuals in Gwadar, with a significant number of recipients belonging to the fishing community.
