China is a dependable and proven friend, President Arif Alvi tells new Chinese envoy

Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi has said that China is a dependable and proven friend.

He made these remarks during a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of China Jiang Zaidong who presented his diplomatic credentials to the President.

Alvi emphasized the need to bolster cooperation with China across various domains such as trade, economics, culture, and defense.

He underscored that China is a dependable and proven friend, expressing Pakistan’s strong desire to reinforce the strategic ties shared with China, with the goal of mutual advantage for both nations. President Alvi warmly welcomed Jiang Zaidong, underscoring Pakistan’s deep appreciation for its enduring relationship with China, particularly its unwavering support during challenging times.

Highlighting the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the President emphasized its potential to substantially contribute to Pakistan’s socioeconomic development.

He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the timely completion of all CPEC projects. Furthermore, he expressed gratitude for China’s steadfast support in Pakistan’s socioeconomic advancement and international issues.

Jiang Zaidong had arrived in Pakistan on September 5 to assume charge as the new Chinese ambassador to Pakistan.

The Chinese embassy in Pakistan said Ambassador Zaidong was committed to strengthening China-Pakistan ironclad friendship and all-weather strategic cooperation.

Zaidong is a senior officer of the diplomatic service of China and was nominated for the position after ex-ambassador Nong Rong returned to China in January this year.
