Ambassador Jakob Linulf meets Energy Minister to discuss cooperation

Islamabad: Ambassador of Denmark Jakob Linulf held a meeting with Minister of Energy Muhammed Ali Thursday at Power Division.
The agenda of the meeting was opportunities for Green energy initiatives and energy conservation in Pakistan.
The discussion of projects and initiatives being carried out under the Danish Energy Transition Initiative (DETI) and Investment Fund(IFU) ,a fund for Developing countries by Denmark, were discussed in the meeting. The opportunities and mechanism for wind energy in Pakistan were discussed in detail.
The ambassador said that there has been an increase in the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Denmark particularly in textile sector.
The next focus will be on strengthening the bilateral relations in green and sustainable energy sector. This will extend to the energy conservation measures in Pakistan as well.
A cross-functional team of power sector for the future discussion and joint workshop at Conference of parties (COP) was proposed. Denmark has been smooth in its transition to sustainable energy.
Denmark’s goal has been to go green and reduce the dependence on fossil fuels and it has lead smooth transition in thirty to forty years. Denmark’s goal for effective energy is green diplomacy across the work and the opportunities discussed in the meeting were part of it.
