NPC organises condolence reference in memory of senior journalist Shafqat Ali’s late father

Islamabad: A condolence reference was organised by the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad on Tuesday in memory of The Nation’s senior journalist Shafqat Ali’s late father.

Collective prayers were also offered for the deceased family members of other journalists.

The session was, attended by various political, social, and intellectual figures from different schools of thought including Syed Sibtul Haider Bukhari of the Pakistan People’s party.

Other prominent participants included President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Afzal Butt, President NPC Anwar Raza, Deputy Secretary Waqar Abbasi, Secretary General RIUJ Tariq Ali Virak, Finance Secretary Kashan Akmal, Senior Journalist Hafiz Taher Khalil, former President RIUJ Amir Sajjad Syed, former President RIUJ Mubarak Zeb Khan, Member Governing Body Amir Rafique Butt, Raja Bashir Usmani, Jafar Ali Balte, Ihtesham Kiani, Senior Vice President RIUJ Azhar Khan Niazi, Syed Mohsin Raza, Sharjeel Amjad Rao, Faisal Hakeem, Rana Zahid Hussain, and many other senior journalists and political and social figures.

Relatives of the deceased were also present at the occasion, including The Nation’s Shafqat Ali, Mrs. Gulzar Khan, Javed Faizi, the late Tariq Mahmood’s wife, Omar Hayat, Amjad Satti, Khanzib Mahsood, Haneef Abid, Rana Kamran Safdar, Syed Saqib Hussain Rizvi, Shujaat Ali, Syed Qaisar Zulfikar, Javed Shah, Zahid Farooq Malik, Tanveer Shahzad, Syed Qaisar Shah, Azhar Khan Niazi, Kamran Ali Abbasi, Rana Kausar Ali, Waqar Kazmi, and Muhammad Shafqat.
