Chinese Ambassador commends Pakistani government’s efforts in pursuing economic reforms, economic revival
Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong has commended the Pakistani government’s efforts in pursuing economic reforms and economic revival.
In a meeting with Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, & Economic Affairs here, the envoy assured continued Chinese support to Pakistan.
The meeting also included a discussion on the progress of projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and emphasized the strategic importance of CPEC in terms of regional connectivity and economic development, said an official statement.
During the meeting, Dr Akhtar congratulated Ambassador Jiang Zaidong on his appointment as the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan and expressed her appreciation for the long-standing, strong, and well-established friendly relations between the two nations.
Dr Akhtar emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to further enhancing these bilateral ties and extended gratitude for China’s invaluable support across various sectors in Pakistan.
She also highlighted the government’s dedication to implementing economic reforms, underscoring their significance in revitalizing the national economy. The Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to successfully complete the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Programme, illustrating the government’s dedication to responsible economic governance.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both sides to further strengthen the multifaceted partnership between Pakistan and China, with the goal of enhancing economic prosperity and promoting development.
