CPEC: Administration to rebuild, renovate schools in Abbottabad

Abbotabad: Abbottabad’s Deputy Commissioner (DC) Khalid Iqbal has said that the government will rebuild and renovate the schools partially affected by the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)’s projects.

The DC presided over a meeting of the District Steering Committee of the Education Department, during which he issued directives pertaining to the provision of facilities in local schools.

He said some schools had to face problems as the CPEC projects ran through them so the schools will be rebuilt and renovated.

He also provided guidance on matters such as the appointment of administrative staff in schools, continuous access to water supply, electricity provision, transformer maintenance, and the development of schools in areas impacted by the CPEC projects which are being carried out in the larger interest of the society.

He reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to prioritize the delivery of quality education and facilities to students.

Khalid Iqbal stressed the need for enhancing the quality of education, ensuring that essential facilities are available in schools, and adopting modern teaching methods that cater to the requirements of today’s students.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed the department to develop a comprehensive action plan aimed at transparently distributing syllabus books and maintaining schools effectively.

During the meeting, Aiza Qureshi, the Director of Education Monitoring Authority, briefed the committee on the performance and progress since the previous Steering Committee meeting.

Notable attendees included officials like ADC Relief and Human Rights Abbottabad, District Education Officers, Deputy District Education Officers, as well as representatives from the Communication and Works Department and the sports department, among others from the Education Department.
