Chinese Ambassador urges deeper collaboration among Pakistani and Chinese media outlets
Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong has stressed the need for deeper collaboration among Pakistani and Chinese media outlets.
Speaking at the launch event of ‘Thousands of Miles with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC): The Symbol of Pakistan-China Relations,’ here, he highlighted the importance of increased cooperation in the fields of information and media between Pakistan and China.
The event, organized by the All-Pakistan Chinese Enterprises’ Association (APCEA) in partnership with the Pakistan-China Institute (PCI), took place at the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS).
‘Thousands of Miles’ aligns with the vision of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to create an inclusive and open global corridor, a green pathway, and a road to connectivity and shared prosperity, which are becoming tangible realities.
In his speech, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong emphasized the enhancement of cooperation within existing CPEC projects and extending it into sustainability and technology-related areas.
The launch ceremony was attended by dignitaries from both Chinese and Pakistani leadership, including Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, Murtaza Solangi (Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting), Li Yong (Counsellor for Commercial Affairs), and Senator Mushahid Hussain (Chairman Senate Defense Committee). It also saw significant participation from Chinese enterprises, companies, and the local and Chinese journalist community.
The event featured the screening of an exclusive video documentary that highlighted the significance and contributions of CPEC as the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative, showcasing its transformation from an ancient vision to a modern reality. Gwadar, as the centerpiece of CPEC, was emphasized for its geographic and geostrategic importance, along with notable contributions of CPEC projects.
