Enhanced exchanges, bilateral training courses for Pakistan-China police proposed

Lahore: Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman proposed enhanced exchanges and bilateral training courses for Pakistan-China police for mutual benefit.

He was speaking to a delegation from the Chinese Jiangsu Police, led by Deputy Director General Tan Yongsheng, who met with the Governor at his office here.

The Governor emphasized the strong and enduring relationship between Pakistan and China, describing it as built on mutual trust, love, and unparalleled friendship.

He highlighted the significance of the Belt and Road Initiative, particularly the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), as a transformative project that would bring about development not only in both countries but across the entire region.

Governor Rehman expressed optimism about the positive impact of CPEC’s ongoing development projects on energy, infrastructure, and economic growth in Pakistan.

He discussed the potential for enhanced efficiency of police personnel through various training courses and mutual exchanges.

The Governor Punjab said that recent signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Punjab Police and Jiangsu Province will promote bilateral cooperation between Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) of the two friendly countries.

On this occasion, Deputy Director General Tan Yongsheng acknowledged the cooperation in policing between Pakistan and China and expressed a commitment to strengthening economic ties and people-to-people contacts.

He emphasized that Pakistan-China friendship would be further solidified through increased investment and exchanges at the public level.

The meeting was attended by various officials, including Deputy Consul General Cao Ke, Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, and other senior police officers from both countries.
