Albana Ferrarese inaugurates a festival on women empowerment, appreciates event

Islamabad: Islamabad Foreign Women Association (IFWA) President Albana Ferrarese inaugurated a festival here on ‘Women Empowerment and Celebrating Human Rights’ over the weekend.

Serena Hotels and Nomad Art Gallery collaborated to orchestrate a remarkable crafts festival in Islamabad, presenting a captivating cultural experience.

The festival’s inauguration was graced by the presence of Albana Ferrarese, who is wife of the Ambassador of Italy in Pakistan Andreas Ferrarese and a prominent diplomatic lady in her own right.

She commended the collaborative efforts of Serena Hotels and Nomad Art Gallery in providing a valuable platform for artists to exhibit their creations.

In her address, Mrs. Ferrarese highlighted the festival’s theme, ‘Women Empowerment and Celebrating Human Rights’ and vowed to continue playing her role to empower the women.

She expressed appreciation for the collective commitment to this cause and acknowledged the united efforts of various partners involved in making the event possible.

The chosen theme resonates deeply, reflecting a commitment to fostering women’s empowerment and human rights. The festival showcased a meticulously curated selection of handmade crafts, ranging from embroidered and woven shawls to pottery and accessories from Swat, Phulkari from Hazara, home decor items, printed fabrics, and an exclusive collection of apparel, spanning from indigenous to contemporary textiles.

Additionally, the exhibition featured handcrafted toys, honey, and jewelry crafted by talented artisans, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.

Nageen Hayat, the director of Nomad Art Gallery, emphasized the gallery’s commitment to advancing human rights, peace, crafts development, and the arts and culture.
