PAS elects prominent Chinese geophysicist elected as member
Islamabad: Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) has elected a prominent Chinese geophysicist elected as member.
The PAS announced the latest additions to its roster of foreign academicians, and one notable inclusion is Lin Jian.
Lin Jian is a distinguished researcher at the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and he serves as the director of the Key Laboratory of Ocean and Marginal Sea Geology.
His election stems from his remarkable accomplishments in the realm of global earth sciences and his significant contributions to fostering scientific and technological collaboration between China and Pakistan.
Lin Jian has an impressive track record, having served as the chief scientist for the IODP drilling expeditions in the South China Sea.
He actively participated in more than twenty international oceanographic expeditions, spanning the Pacific, Indian, and Atlantic oceans.
