Dera Ismail Khan: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) spokesperson Faisal Karim Kundi asserted on Saturday that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman wants to escape elections by making excuses for the country’s situation.

Speaking to media in Dera Ismail Khan, Kundi said: “We want the conduct of the general elections in a peaceful way. There can be political differences, but there is no chance of personal differences.”

We will have to bludgeon the opponents by uniting everybody.

Meanwhile, five Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) tehsil nazims joined the PPP.

PPP senior leader Qaim Ali Shah expressed optimism that his party will clinch a majority in the upcoming elections.

Speaking to media in Khairpur, Shah said: “The formation of an alliance against us is not a new thing. The time will tell who is going to be the country’s next premier. The elections will be held on time.”

Shah said, “The court should give a ruling in line with the cases against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder.”

He recalled his tenure as the Sindh chief minister, saying, “The province had witnessed record development during my tenure as the Sindh CM.”

In connection with the party candidates for the elections, Shah said: “Those candidates will be announced by the party leadership and will be acceptable to all.”
