Export of fruits and vegetables from Greece breaks all records
Athens: According to estimates from the Association of Greek enterprises trading in fruits, vegetables, and juices, the year 2023 set a record for the export of fruits and vegetables.
In 2023, the export of fruits and vegetables increased by 21% in terms of value, reaching 1.7 billion euros compared to 1.399 billion euros in 2022. In terms of export volume, 2023 saw an 8.5% growth compared to the previous year, reaching 1.7 million tons compared to 1.595 million tons the year before.
According to the same data until November 2023, the export of fruits and vegetables increased by 10.2% in volume and by 20.7% in value, totaling 1.537 million tons and 1.49 billion euros, respectively, compared to 1.395 million tons and 1.234 billion euros in the corresponding period of 2022.
The average export price increased by +9.5%, excluding winter fruits and vegetables, which, according to November data, exceeded 30%.
