Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Saturday the people of Tharparkar had proven that they stood with his party ahead of general elections 2024.
Addressing an election rally in Chachro tehsil of Tharparkar, the former foreign minister said his relation with public was not political but it based on love.
He said the mission of his party was to end poverty, inflation and unemployment. “The taxes of the hardworking people of Pakistan should be spent on them, not in subsidising the lives and businesses of the elite or in funding defunct federal ministries,” he said.
He asked the people to vote for his party in the Feb 8 polls in order to make a government that will work for public.
Taking a jibe at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo, he said the former premier claimed that he had initiated the Thar Coal project. “If he had started this project, he would have come here to hold a rally,” he remarked.
Bilawal Bhutto said the project was launched by the PPP to extend economic benefits to local people. He announced that train service will be started from Thar to Karachi if his party is voted to power on Feb 8.
He said Nawaz Sharif was making attempts to impose his government on Pakistan and establish a puppet setup in Karachi.
