PPP’s Shazia Marri calls president’s delay in convening NA session ‘abuse of power’
Karachi: Prominent PPP leader Shazia Marri remarked on Sunday that the delay in convening a session of the newly elected National Assembly by the president constitutes an abuse of power.
The PPP mouthpiece stated that it was imperative for President Alvi to promptly summon the session of the National Assembly upon the advice of the caretaker prime minister to ensure its effective functioning.
She urged the president to prioritise upholding the constitution over personal loyalty, highlighting the need to avoid past instances of constitutional manipulation.
Marri underscored that every violation and misuse of authority by President Alvi would be recorded in history.
She reiterated that following the elections, the president was obligated to convene the session of the National Assembly.
