Italy to hire 12,000 workers from Tunisia by 2027
Rome: Rome and Tunis have pledged to work together to bring thousands of Tunisian laborers to Italy.
Rome and Tunis signed a deal to bring 12,000 Tunisian workers to Italy over the next three years.
The agreement was decided by the two countries in late October last year. Monday’s signing makes it official.
The final protocol was signed in Tunis by officials representing the Italian Ministry of Labor and the Tunisian Ministry of Labor.
Italian and Tunisian labor organizations Sviluppo Lavoro Italia and Aneti will work together to locate both the Italian market’s manpower needs as well as the Tunisian workers who could fill those gaps.
