Lahore: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he came to Punjab to win support of his father Asif Zardari, a presidential candidate.
Bilawal expressed these views while addressing the media along with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Bilawal greeted Maryam Nawaz on assuming the charge as Punjab chief minister. He said that Ramazan relief package would serve the poor people of the province.
“Polarisation emerged in the society that has to be buried to move forward,” he added.
The PPP chairman hoped that PM Shehbaz Sharif and the president would work together to solve all the problems.
Addressing the meeting of the parliamentary party, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz said that the PML-N would vote for Zardari. She said that problems are so complex that not a single party can solve them.
The Punjab chief minister said that the Ramazan package was being distributed as per the record of the Benazir Income Support Programme.
“Fatima Jinnah and Benazir Shaheed are being remembered today. I had a meeting with Benazir Shaheed, my mother was a brave woman,” she stated.
She also expressed well wishes for Asif Zardari as a president. Maryam Nawaz said that in the last five years, the constitution was violated by the outgoing president.
She vowed to vote for Asif Zardari in the presidential election.
