Islamabad: Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has received support from the UK Department for Transport. The partnership between the two entities reached a milestone as the UK government provided Aviation Security Screeners Computer Based Training and Checking Programme, along with computers for the Directorate of Aviation Security PCAA.
The equipment handover took place at Islamabad International Airport, where Air Cdre (Retd) Shahid Qadir, Director Aviation Security PCAA, and Airport Manager Aftab Gillani received the resources from Mr. Mohammad Abdul Gaffar, First Secretary Aviation UK High Commission Islamabad. This collaboration aims to enhance aviation security regulatory capabilities in alignment with international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The training program and hardware provided will facilitate timely compliance with ICAO requirements for screening aviation industry personnel through a computer-based system. This initiative underscores the commitment of both organizations to strengthening aviation security in Pakistan.
