A delegation from Islamabad NDU participates in Pakistan-Italy Friendship Forum
Islamabad: A delegation from the National Defense University (NDU) in Islamabad participated in the Pakistan-Italy Friendship Forum – Civil Society Dialogue 4.0 today at the Pakistani Embassy in Rome. This was reported in a statement from the embassy.
The group, consisting of 19 members, led by the Air Vice Marshal Imran Saif, is visiting for a week and has had numerous engagements with the Italian government, defense companies and institutions. The forum, titled “Nuclear Deterrence in Today’s Security Paradigm: South Asia, a Nuclear Flashpoint”, was opened by Pakistan’s former Ambassador to Geneva and current Advisor to the Strategic Plans Division, Zamir Akram.
He spoke among the speakers Emanuele Panero of the Center for International Studies (Cesi). The NDU delegation also includes five senior military officers from Saudi Arabia. The military attaché of the Saudi embassy also attended the event as a special guest. The event, including questions and answers, provided an opportunity for a meaningful exchange of perspectives between guests and attendees. The shared commitment between Pakistan and Italy in promoting global peace and security, both bilaterally and through joint efforts within the United Nations, was also highlighted. The ambassador Ali Javed thanked the guests and participants for the success of the session and underlined the usefulness of establishing the Pakistan-Italy Friendship Forum to deepen understanding and cooperation through interaction between civil societies.
