AIERD and Arid Agriculture University announce ‘China Fellowship 2024’

Islamabad: The Asian Institute of Eco-civilization Research and Development (AIERD), in collaboration with Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, unveiled the Understanding China Fellowship Programme 2024.

This initiative is aimed at youth eager to gain insights into China. The program is supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan.

The primary goals of the fellowship are to educate participants about China’s achievements across various sectors, familiarize them with the Chinese development model and its principles of shared prosperity, and provide guidance on how these insights can inform Pakistani policymakers in alignment with Chinese strategies. The fellowship spans four months and is divided into two phases.

The first phase includes lectures, presentations, and discussions. During the second phase, each participant is required to write a 2000-word concept paper on their understanding of China.

Applicants must complete and submit the application form by June 30, 2024. The form is available online via the advertisement on AIERD’s website and social media platforms and can be submitted through the provided email address (msar@aierd.org) or Google document.

AIERD’s Chief Executive Officer, Shakeel Ahmed Ramay, highlighted that the fellowship will feature lectures and workshops conducted by experts on China from Pakistani and Chinese universities and think tanks.

“We particularly encourage youth with at least a bachelor’s or master’s degree in social sciences to apply. There will be no gender discrimination, and equal opportunities will be offered to all applicants. After the initial screening, selected candidates will be interviewed in the first week of July,” stated Shakeel Ahmed Ramay. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive certificates.
