Ambassador Marilina Armellin hosts reception on Italian National Day

Islamabad: Ambassador of Italy Marilina Armellin on Sunday evening hosted a grand reception to celebrate the National Day of the Republic of Italy.

Federal Minister for Housing Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Senator Sherry Rehman, cut a cake on the occasion.

This event was attended by a diverse assembly of guests, including government officials, diplomats, business leaders, media and representatives from various sectors. The large turnout highlighted the robust and growing diplomatic ties between Italy and Pakistan.

In her address, Ambassador of Italy Marilina Armellin spoke warmly about the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Italy. She emphasized that the political ties between the two nations have been traditionally excellent over the decades, expressing her pleasure at the extraordinary strength and consolidation of these bilateral relations. She noted that these ties continue to grow stronger.

Ambassador Armellin highlighted the commitment of both Italy and Pakistan to enhance their trade and investment partnership. She recalled the significant milestone in December 2015 when the Italian Trade Commissioner visited Pakistan for the first time and re-opened the Italian Trade Office in Karachi.

Ambassador Armellin concluded by acknowledging the broad-based support for strengthening bilateral ties, emphasizing that the relationship between Pakistan and Italy is comprehensive, encompassing political, economic, and cultural dimensions.

She expressed optimism about the future of Italy-Pakistan relations, envisioning a partnership characterized by mutual prosperity, strategic collaboration, and continued growth.
