Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 1.13%
Lisbon: Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower. At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE), which rose 2.16% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (ELI:SEM) added 1.20% or 0.18 points to end at 15.20 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was up 0.27% or 0.02 points to 7.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 3.48% or 0.13 points to trade at 3.72 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 1.98% or 0.29 points to end at 14.38 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was down 1.82% or 0.07 points to 3.67.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.39% or 0.31 to $79.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.19% or 0.14 to hit $75.41 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.81% or 67.20 to trade at $2,323.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.85. The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.74% at 104.83.
