Bulgarian Media Pay Tribute to Poet and Revolutionary Hristo Botev in Odesa

Participants in the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media honoured famous Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev in Odesa, Ukraine on Wednesday. The delegation paid tribute at the bust sculpture and the memorial bas-relief sculpture of Hristo Botev in Odesa. Botev attended school there from 1863 to 1865. Participants in this year’s meeting toured Bulgarian locales in the city.

The Bulgarian delegation includes prominent figures, including the Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio, Milen Mitev, and BTA Director General Kiril Valchev. Other members include the Chair of the Council for Electronic Media, Gabriela Naplatanova, Sofia University Rector Georgi Valchev, and Consul General of Bulgaria in Odesa Svetoslav Ivanov. Raina Manjucova, Director of the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, also joined the delegation alongside representatives from Bulgarian and Bulgarian-language media globally.

BTA is organizing the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media in Odesa, Bolhrad, and Izmail, Ukraine, from June 18 to June 21, 2024. The event is taking place with the support of Aurubis Bulgaria, A1 Bulgaria, Glavbolgarstroy Holding AD, Euroins Insurance Group, Postbank, SOF Connect, and the 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Endowment Fund.
