TAP Air Portugal Offering 25% Off Stopover Side Quests

Passengers flying via Lisbon and Porto can save on flights to a second domestic destination, including Faro, Madiera, and the Azores.
The flag carrier of Portugal is highlighting its stopover program with a promotion to encourage travelers to visit multiple parts of the country on the same trip. TAP Air Portugal passengers can now benefit from a 25% discount (excluding airport taxes) on any domestic flight for a 2nd stopover in Portugal during their layover period.

How does it work?
Passengers booking a one-way or return ticket with a layover in Lisbon (LIS) or Porto are eligible for the offer. This includes those traveling from Europe to the Americas and elsewhere across TAP’s medium and long-haul network. The opportunity to choose a stopover appears when booking on the airline’s website and can last from 1 to 10 days.

Some airlines allow a long layover at their base airport for no extra cost; let’s take a deep dive into the Portuguese flag carrier’s option.
Once the trip is booked, the 25% discount promotional code will be sent to your email to use on any domestic flight operated by TAP during your stopover period in Portugal. The trip can include multiple destinations, and the Portugal Stopover can be on either leg of the journey. This includes open-jaw tickets, where a passenger would depart from one location (e.g., New York City) and return to a different one (e.g., Boston or Toronto).

Naturally, the discount code can only be used for flights within the passenger’s stopover in Portugal.

Where can you go?
The discount can be used on flights across TAP Air Portugal’s domestic network, including routes to the Azores and Madeira archipelagos in the mid-Atlantic. On the Portuguese mainland, passengers can explore the Algarve via Faro Airport (FAO), which serves as a gateway to the country’s south coast and is known for its surfing, golf, and fishing villages.
