Bilawal pledges to highlight Balochistan’s issues at APC
PPP chairman also promises to provide houses with ownership rights for women
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has pledged his commitment to addressing the pressing issues of Balochistan.
During a press conference in Quetta alongside Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Bhutto Zardari announced that PPP representatives would participate in the anticipated All Party Conference (APC) on operation “Azm-e-Istehkam” to present the party’s stance on Balochistan.
During his visit to Quetta, Bhutto Zardari met with party leadership and workers, assuring them of all possible relief for the people of Balochistan. He emphasized that the provision of health facilities is a priority, vowing to enhance the province’s healthcare system. He revealed plans to establish a Gambit-style hospital in Naseerabad and extend free health services similar to those in Sindh.
“Empowering women is essential,” Bhutto Zardari stated, announcing interest-free loans for women to ensure their active participation in various sectors. He also promised to provide houses with ownership rights for women, increase educational scholarships for the youth, and implement Rescue 1122 services in all districts of Balochistan.
Reiterating PPP’s manifesto of “bread, cloth, and house,” Bhutto Zardari highlighted the party’s efforts against poverty and inflation. He mentioned ongoing welfare projects for the underprivileged and prioritized the provision of electricity through solar power systems.
On the issue of terrorism, Bhutto Zardari affirmed PPP’s clear stance. “If an APC is convened regarding operation “Azm-e-Istehkam”, we will actively participate and present our position on Balochistan,” he declared, indicating that the party would contribute its perspective in the conference.
He expressed his intent to bring Balochistan’s issues to the federal level, pledging to collaborate with the Chief Minister and his team.
Addressing a question about budget allocations, Bhutto Zardari expressed hope for timely release of funds. He lamented the lack of consultation on the federal PSDP, stressing the need for the federal budget to reflect Balochistan’s backwardness and challenges.
