EU calls for implementation of orders of ICJ to halt Israeli offensive in Gaza
The European Union has called for implementation of orders of International Court of Justice regarding Gaza war in which Israel was ordered to halt its military offensive and ensure humanitarian assistance in Gaza.
In a joint statement, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarcic voiced deep concern over Israel’s latest evacuation orders for Khan Younis in Gaza.
They said it is a humanitarian crisis within the crisis as it not only impacted 250,000 people but also threatened the patients and staff of hospitals forcing them to relocate.
The EU officials reiterated that evacuations must conform to International Humanitarian Law, guaranteeing safe and proper accommodation in areas of refuge for Palestinians.
