Sofia bourse indices mostly grow, Chimimport drives gains

Sofia: Most indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) finished the week in green territory, with the blue-chip SOFIX, the BGBX40 and BGTR30 advancing on gains at diversified groups Chimimport [BUL:CHIM] and Doverie United Holding [BUL:DUH], bourse data showed.

Chimimport grew by 3.40% to 0.76 levs, while Doverie added 2.35% to 8.70 levs, pushing SOFIX up by 0.19% to 866.50 points.

At the same time, the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, went up 0.05% to 170.04 points, whereas the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, rose by 0.14% to 862.33 points. Both indices were further supported by a 1.75% climb in pharmaceuticals distributor Sopharma Trading [BUL:SFT] to 5.80 levs.

The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, ended the session flat at 192.91 points after neither of its two constituents to trade posted any changes from the previous day’s close.

The BEAMX, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, posted the sole decline of the day, sinking 1.45% to 106.46 points. The index was pressed by a 10.81% plunge in electric vehicle manufacturer Sin Cars Industry [BUL:SIN] to 0.33 levs.

Total turnover on the main market of the BSE fell to 3.94 million levs ($2.17 million/2.01 million euro) on Friday from 5.08 million levs the day prior.

Diversified group Synthetica [BUL:SYN] was the day’s most liquid stock, generating 1.12 million levs as 18,612 shares traded. The company’s shares closed 0.84% higher at 60.00 levs.
