Bulgaria’s tourist overnights revenue grows 18% y/y in June

Sofia:- Bulgaria’s revenue from tourist overnights leapt by 18% on the year to 270.5 million levs ($151 million/138.3 million euro) in June, the statistical office said on Monday.

Revenue from foreign visitors came in at 186.8 million levs, while domestic tourists contributed 83.7 million levs in the review month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.

The total number of tourist overnights rose by an annual 5.9% to some 3.54 million in June. Overnights spent by foreigners totalled some 2.31 million.

In June, the total number of tourists who stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria climbed by 6% year-on-year to 1.03 million. Of them, 520,800 were foreign visitors, up 3.8% in annual terms, while Bulgarian nationals added 8.3% to 513,100, the NSI said.
