Bulgaria is surging tourism sector with visa free travel for 93 countries including USA, France, UAE and Canada

Sofia: Bulgaria‘s tourism industry is experiencing a remarkable surge, thanks to its expanded visa free travel program, now including 93 countries as of August 2024. This initiative makes it easier than ever for international visitors to explore Bulgaria’s rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cities.

Tourist Arrivals in Bulgaria: In April 2024, Bulgaria welcomed 793,260 visitors, up from 756,510 arrivals in the previous month. According to Trading Economics, tourist arrivals in Bulgaria are expected to reach 1,490,000 by the end of the quarter. Projections suggest around 930,000 arrivals in 2025 and 990,000 in 2026. In 2023, Bulgaria hosted a total of 12,627,547 tourists.

G.D.P of Bulgaria: In recent years, Bulgaria’s travel and tourism sector has significantly contributed to the country’s GDP, with inbound tourism playing a pivotal role. In 2022, the sector accounted for approximately 9.1% of Bulgaria’s GDP, highlighting the crucial impact of international visitors on the nation’s economy. This includes revenue from tourist spending on accommodations, dining, entertainment, and various services. The sector’s strong contribution is fueled by Bulgaria’s rich cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and ongoing efforts to promote the country as a prime travel destination.
