Hong Kong actress Myolie Wu explores Italy’s Florence

Florence: Actress and singer Myolie Wu and her husband Philip Lee visited famous landmarks in the tourist city of Florence and enjoyed local dishes during their recent holiday in Italy.

Wu poses for photos at a historic building in the heart of Florence that dates back to 1613, built on the foundations of ancient houses.

This building, known as Palazzo Dudley, now houses commercial activities, keeping its historic elegance alive.

Florence, capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture.

She took photos at Piazza della Repubblica, one of the main squares in Florence.

The square today is a meeting point of street artists and shows, particularly after sunset, and is home to the historical Caffé Gilli, Caffé Paskowski and Caffé delle Giubbe Rosse.

The couple visited All’anticoVinaio, the legendary Florentine sandwich shop.

Since 1991, the Mazzanti family has been running the three Florence locations of the shop and has been drawing crowds of both Italians and tourists alike due to the exceptional ingredients and freshly baked Tuscan schiacciata bread.

With over 29,000 independent reviews, the shop is the most reviewed on Tripadvisor.

The shop is famous for its sandwich made with warmed schiacciata, a flat, Tuscan bread put together with olive oil and plenty of salt that costs 6 euros (US$7), according to Business Insider.

The couple also enjoyed authentic Italian cuisine at Trattoria Marione Restaurant on Via della Spada in Florence.

Wu also enjoyed affogato, a popular Italian dessert in Florence that combines espresso and gelato.

Originating from Italy’s love for coffee-infused desserts, it’s enjoyed post-meal for its delightful mix of hot espresso and cold gelato.
