Prince Harry, Meghan Markle receive special UK invite from family

London: Prince Harry and Meghan may have a reason to travel to UK for Christmas as their family sends a friendly offer.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have spent their Christmas holidays in the US since stepping down from their senior royal positions in 2020, have not visited the royal family’s annual festivities given their royal rifts.

However, now a source has revealed that Harry and Meghan were extended an offer from their UK family.

“Charles [Spencer] has invited Harry, Meghan and the children to Althorp this Christmas,” a source revealed to Express.co.uk about Princess Diana’s brother’s invitation to the Sussexes.

“It’s far too early to say whether they will take him up on it, but the offer is there if they want it,” the insider continued. “There hasn’t been an invitation extended to Sandringham just yet, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be one forthcoming.”

Harry’s uncle, Diana’s younger brother, is the ninth Earl of Spencer and lives in the massive Althorp estate. The Duke had visited the estate earlier this month to attend the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes and visited his mother’s grave to pay his respects.

It is possible that Harry was also inspecting the security measures for the estate to make sure if it would be possible to bring his wife and children to the UK.

Meanwhile, the royal family gathers at the Sandringham palace annually for their festivities, which were once much-loved by Prince Harry.

Moreover, per a report by The Mirror, the Sussexes would accept an invite if they were sent one from King Charles. Although, things may have changed since.

The insider told that it “would be highly unlikely if there was an invitation extended [to Sandringham] and I don’t think they [the Sussexes) would take them up on it anyway.”
