Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry urges citizens not to travel to Lebanon, Iran

Sofia: Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry has called on the country’s citizens not to travel to Lebanon and for those in Lebanon to leave that country immediately.

The call, issued on September 27, came “in connection with the serious escalation of hostilities in recent hours”.

In case of need for assistance, Bulgarian citizens in Lebanon can contact the Bulgarian diplomatic mission in Beirut, the Foreign Ministry said.

Israel has been carrying out air strikes in Lebanon against the Hezbollah terrorist group, which has launched missile strikes on Israel.

Earlier, on September 26, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry called on Bulgarian citizens to refrain from traveling to Iran, except in cases of extreme necessity.

“Bulgarian citizens on the territory of the country must strictly adhere to the security instructions of the Iranian authorities,” the ministry said.

“It is necessary to be regularly informed about the situation, to avoid places that represent military sites or where events related to a large gathering of people are held,” it said.
