Pakistan Ulema Council chief praises China

Islamabad: Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), has praised China and its role in Pakistan’s progress.

Speaking to journalists here, he said Pakistan’s recent economic and diplomatic strides, despite the nation grappling with internal and external challenges was due to China.

Ashrafi condemned the recent terrorist attack in Karachi, describing it as a deliberate attempt to destabilize the country and tarnish its global image.

In his remarks, Ashrafi highlighted several significant developments that he believes signal Pakistan’s growing influence on the international stage.

He pointed to the visits from high-level foreign dignitaries, including the Malaysian Prime Minister and the Chinese Premier, as well as Pakistan’s hosting of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.

These events, he opined, represented major opportunities for economic growth and stronger diplomatic ties.

Ashrafi credited the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff and the President of Pakistan for their role in fostering economic stability, noting that improvements in relations with neighboring countries have been a key factor in this progress.

He also underscored the importance of Pakistan’s unchanging stance on the Palestine issue, emphasizing the significance of the All Parties Conference (APC) held in the country to address this pressing matter.

As the SCO summit approaches, Ashrafi urged the public to avoid protests in Islamabad, stressing that peaceful dialogue is the best way to resolve any national issues.

While acknowledging the right to protest, he lamented the disruption caused by armed groups in the capital, calling on all patriotic citizens to work together in the spirit of unity and national progress.
