Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has informed his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, of the government’s intention to open two new consulates in India, in Mumbai and Bangalore, in the near future.

In a telephone conversation, the two leaders also discussed the prospects of deepening bilateral relations on the basis of the strategic partnership, which they adopted in a joint statement during Modi’s official visit to Athens in August 2023, as well as the further strengthening of cooperation, particularly in the field of investments.

The two countries also discussed cooperation between the two countries in the context of Greece’s term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2025-2026 period.
