Pakistan embassy college in Beijing celebrates International Culture Day

Islamabad: The Pakistan Embassy College in Beijing (PECB) has celebrated its annual International Culture Day with the theme “Bringing the World Together,” marking a day filled with lively performances, cultural displays, and an array of global culinary offerings.

Principal Shazia Amjad welcomed attendees, noting the special significance of this year’s celebration, which coincides with the college’s 55th anniversary of academic excellence.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest, lauding the gathering of representatives from around 50 countries who came to share their diverse heritages. Ambassador Hashmi emphasized that the theme “Bringing the World Together” resonated as a testament to unity amid global diversity, remarking, “In a world that often highlights our differences, today we celebrate our incredible diversity.” He noted that autumn’s changing colors beautifully symbolized the harmony that diversity can create.

According to details released by the embassy here. the Ambassador also highlighted PECB’s role as the first international school in Beijing, fostering global friendships and cultural exchanges among young minds. Reflecting on Pakistan’s own cultural diversity, he stated, “Today, we proudly stand alongside other nations, celebrating how each culture adds to our shared human experience.” He extended heartfelt appreciation to the college’s management, teachers, students, parents, and international guests, who contributed to the event’s success and reinforced bonds of friendship with Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with Ambassador Hashmi cutting a cake in honor of PECB’s 55th anniversary, celebrating the school’s legacy in nurturing global understanding and unity.
