Lahore: AIMA, a renowned Chinese electric vehicle brand, recently launched its flagship electric vehicle store in Lahore, Pakistan.

This marks a major step toward promoting sustainable transportation in Pakistan as the nation looks to shift to greener energy solutions. With this new store, AIMA aims to support Pakistan’s clean energy goals by introducing electric scooters and two-wheelers that offer a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional vehicles.

Electric scooters, like those from AIMA, are increasingly popular for their role in promoting electric mobility. By offering an accessible and affordable mode of transport, they encourage the shift toward electric vehicles and sustainable urban living. Additionally, they help drive advancements in battery technology, charging infrastructure, and smart features that can be expanded to larger electric vehicles.

Founded in 1999, AIMA has become a global leader in electric two-wheelers, offering an extensive lineup that includes electric bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles, and traditional bikes. With six manufacturing plants across China, AIMA aims to produce over 800 million electric vehicles worldwide by 2035, solidifying its commitment to sustainability and renewable transportation.

The Lahore flagship store represents AIMA’s support for clean energy initiatives and strengthens the China-Pakistan partnership within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

As Pakistan seeks to prioritize sustainable transportation, AIMA’s store provides a practical solution to reduce carbon emissions in the region. It also aligns with AIMA’s global strategy to enhance sustainable transportation solutions worldwide, especially in emerging markets like South Asia.

To ensure successful expansion, AIMA has invested in researching local laws, regulations, and user preferences. This helps the company deliver products that meet Pakistan’s specific needs, showcasing AIMA as a leading, innovative force in the electric two-wheeler industry.

AIMA’s move into Pakistan is part of a larger global expansion plan. In 2015, AIMA launched its first European store in Switzerland, a symbolic step in its international strategy, building on the China-Switzerland free trade agreement from 2013. The expansion also aligned with China’s “One Belt, One Road” strategy, which fosters economic connections across regions. Duan Hua, AIMA’s CEO, noted that the saturation of the Chinese market prompted the company to explore new markets abroad, with Switzerland and now Pakistan reflecting AIMA’s commitment to quality and global growth.

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, connects Gwadar Port in Pakistan to Xinjiang in China, with the aim of strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

Through investments in transport, energy, and infrastructure, CPEC is set to transform Pakistan’s economy. AIMA’s entry into Pakistan reinforces CPEC’s goals by promoting renewable energy solutions and strengthening cooperation between China and Pakistan.

By increasing accessibility to electric vehicles, AIMA is positioning itself as a pivotal player in Pakistan’s clean energy landscape, supporting a sustainable future for both countries.
