NUTECH leadership visits FPCCI to foster academia-industry collaboration
Karachi: Registrar NUTECH Brigadier Adnan Qasim, along with Director Industrial Collaboration Brigadier Salman Zafar and Director Research Brigadier Syed Atif Ali visited The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI). The primary agenda of the visit was to discuss collaboration between academia and the private sector.
During the meeting, Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President of FPCCI, commended NUTECH for its remarkable research work and innovation. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness about these contributions to the industry.
Brigadier Adnan Qasim highlighted NUTECH’s unique position as a university dedicated to serving the industry. “Our motto is ‘University for Industry.’ We are committed to conducting research that directly benefits the industry,” he stated. He noted that NUTECH is the only university with a dedicated skill development department, focusing on projects that apply dual technology, relevant for both defense and civilian sectors.
Mr. Magoon proposed the establishment of an Economic Policy Committee, to which Brigadier Qasim responded positively, suggesting that it could be structured as a Techno Policy Committee. Furthermore, Mr. Magoon announced that NUTECH members would be invited to join the FPCCI advisory board, fostering closer ties between the two organizations. Registrar NUTECH suggested the inclusion of university representatives as non-voting members of various international business forums of FPCCI. Mr. Saqib agreed to this proposal.
This collaborative effort marks a significant step towards enhancing the synergy between academia and industry, ultimately contributing to Pakistan’s economic growth.
