Nestlé takes back Nestea in Portugal

Lisbon: Nestlé will once again be responsible for the production and sale of Nestea in Portugal.

This comes after the company signed an agreement with Coca-Cola in 2017, with which until that year it maintained a global partnership for the production and sale of this iced tea, where the North American multinational maintained production and distribution in the country, Nestlé is now recovering exclusive control of the rights to exploit the brand.

“The concentration operation consists of the acquisition, by NESTLÉ, S.A. (“NESTLÉ,”), of exclusive control of the exploitation rights of the “Nestea” brand in Portugal (“Nestea”), currently licensed exclusively to The Coca-Cola Company, due to the termination of the current brand licensing agreement”, explains the Swiss company, in a notification sent to the Competition Authority.
