Rome: As of January 1, 2025, the Italian producers’ organization Tenute Zuccarella became fully active in the marketplace.

“This achievement is the result of years of commitment, dedication, and shared enthusiasm. Being recognized as a produces’ organization (PO) by the Basilicata Region is the realization of a shared dream,” says Rocco Zuccarella, president of the organization.

“We cultivate almost 200 hectares of fruit and vegetables on the Metapontino plain,” he adds. Our strength lies in our members, whose number is constantly growing. They are united by a vision of sustainable and quality agriculture, which allows us to aim for a strong presence in the Italian and European markets. Together we are building a solid and innovative future.”

“The diversity of our producer members ensures a wide range of fruit and vegetables, including strawberries, which we are particularly proud to feature, with the Sabrosa-Candonga and Inspire cultivars. Our selection also extends to mangoes, avocados, finger limes (the first produced in Basilicata), figs, kakis, and strawberry grapes. Our selection also includes a variety of citrus fruits, such as lemons, clementines, oranges, and mandarins, as well as stone fruits like peaches, nectarines, apricots, and plums. When it comes to vegetables, we offer: Basilicata friggitello (our flagship product), Cardoncelli mushrooms, and brassicas (white, purple, yellow, and green Romanesco cabbage), as well as aubergines, onions, square peppers, broad beans, and peas. Tenute Zuccarella’s goal is to become a reference point for operators in the markets and large-scale retail trade, and buyers who are looking for excellence and reliability.”

From 5 to 7 February 2025, the PO Tenute Zuccarella will be showcasing its products at Fruit Logistica in Berlin, as part of the joint exhibition of the Basilicata Region. “Our participation in this renowned event presents a valuable opportunity to boost our international visibility and strengthen our connections with existing and prospective customers and buyers,” says President Zuccarella.

During the event, the PO will present the new Candonga Fragola Top Quality® advertising campaign to an international audience, along with exclusive products such as mango, avocado, Linbo® mandarins, and strawberry grapes, which symbolize a constantly evolving commitment to innovation.

Tenute Zuccarella’s projects for the future: innovation and sustainable growth A new structure of approximately 1,000 square meters is nearing completion. It will house the offices serving the PO, as well as a conference room, and technical, commercial, and administrative offices. This strategic investment ensures the continued, efficient management of all members.

“We are also planning to expand our cultivated hectares, introduce new varieties, and focus on growing tropical fruits. Additionally, we are upgrading our 4.0 machinery and equipment and increasing our hydroponics crops. In addition, we are committed to providing dedicated services for our employees, including a company canteen and a complimentary childcare facility. We are committed to cultivating not only the land, but also a future of relationships, growth, and community. Every challenge is an opportunity to improve together,” Zuccarella concludes.
