Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.62%

Lisbon: Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.62%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 2.62% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 1.72% or 0.14 points to end at 8.28 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was up 1.64% or 0.01 points to 0.51 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which fell 0.59% or 0.05 points to trade at 8.38 at the close. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) declined 0.21% or 0.01 points to end at 2.36 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was 0.06% or 0.00 points to 3.50.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 6 and 7 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.50% or 0.38 to $76.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.77% or 0.57 to hit $73.20 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.66 to trade at $2,795.26 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 107.76.
