Zhengzhou: Henan’s film market kicks off 2025 with a strong start in Spring Festival sales. During the eight-day Spring Festival holiday, the province’s box office revenue reached 587 million yuan, a 15.47% increase from the same period in 2024, according to the local authority on February 5, accounting for 6.15% of the national total, ranking fifth nationwide.

During this year’s Spring Festival holiday, the number of movie goers in Henan reached 11.32 million, an 11.82% increase compared to the same period last year. Both box office revenue and the number of movie goers set new historical records.

Zhengzhou led the province with a box office of 115 million yuan, followed by Luoyang, Nanyang, Zhoukou, and Xinyang, which ranked second to fifth.
