Jagiot, Sikander-e-Azam road to be completed soon: Tarar

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, informed the National Assembly on Monday that the projects for Jagiot Road and Sikander-e-Azam Road in Islamabad would be completed soon.

Responding to a calling attention notice regarding the poor condition of roads in rural areas, particularly Jagiot Road and Sikander-e-Azam Road, Islamabad, the minister said that contract of Sikander-e-Azam Road had been awarded for the construction, with a total cost of Rs. 520 million.

He explained that 52 percent of the work on Sikander-e-Azam Road had already been completed, with the remaining work to be finished as soon as funds are available.

He further said that work on Jagiot Road is expected to be completed by June 30.

The calling attention notice was referred to the relevant committee for further deliberation.
