Zhangzhou: A TIR truck set off from Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone (ZAEZ) in Central China’s Henan province on the morning of February 20, heading for Ashkhabad, Turkmenistan. This marks the successful launch of the first direct road freight route between the two places, as well as the inaugural TIR route.

Looking back to February 20, 2023, the TIR road freight route from Zhengzhou to Moscow was officially launched, marking China’s first cross-border road freight service and introducing a new logistics method between Asia and Europe complementing existing air, sea, and rail transport.

“Over the past two years, Zhengzhou Customs has supervised a total of 458 TIR vehicles, with goods valued at over 420 million yuan. The shipments include more than 500 types of products, such as automotive parts, electronics, and food. More than 1,200 foreign trade enterprises have benefited from this service, and the vitality of the ‘fourth logistics channel’ (road freight) between China and Europe continues to grow,” said Ouyang Liangyuan, Deputy Director of Xinzheng Customs, a division of Zhengzhou Customs.
