Pakistan Civil Services Academy (CSA) and the Confucius Institute at Punjab University (CIPU) signed a deal on March 27 to train Pakistani civil servants in Chinese language and culture.

The signing ceremony, which took place at CSA in Lahore, Pakistan, was attended by officials including Li Haoteng, acting director of the Political and Press Office of the Chinese Consulate General in Lahore, and CSA director general Farhan Aziz Khawaja.

The Confucius Institute at Punjab University (CIPU), established in 2015, has been a hub for academic and cultural exchanges, training local instructors, setting up language labs, and hosting cultural events.

The agreement aims to equip Pakistani civil servants with skills to work with Chinese counterparts, supporting long-term bilateral cooperation in education and professional development.

This partnership follows CIPU’s inclusion in the CPEC Consortium of Universities in 2024.
